How We Treat Excessive Sweating

Hyperhidrosis (the term for excessive sweating) commonly affects the underarms and feet, which can be difficult to manage day to day. The cosmetic technologies available for this condition, including Botox and Morpheus8, can reduce sweat production and alleviate discomfort for months at a time.

FAQ

How do these treatments work?

Botox works by temporarily blocking the signals that tell the sweat glands to produce sweat. Morpheus8 uses microneedling and radiofrequency therapy to remodel the sweat glands to be less active.

How many appointments do I need?

Botox treatments should be repeated once every three to six months depending on the severity of your symptoms. Morpheus8’s results build up over time, and treatments should be scheduled every 6-8 months to maintain long-term benefits. We will work with you to help determine the right treatment schedule for your individual goals and needs.

Are they safe?

Both treatments have been FDA-approved as safe and effective for reducing excessive sweating. Botox injections can cause temporary discomfort and muscle weakness in the treated area. With Morpheus8, you may notice minor redness, scabbing, swelling, or pinpoint bleeding for the first few days following treatment.

4. Are they painful?

You may feel mild discomfort during either treatment, though few patients have reported any pain worse than a rubber band snap.

How long do they last?

Botox lasts three to six months, requiring re-injection every few months. Morpheus8 can provide relief for a year or more after one to two treatments.

How long does a procedure take?

Both treatments can take from 20-30 minutes.
